8-28-17  The second of two pigeons that I mailed on Eclipse day made it in to my mailbox safely.  Here is a picture of it as I was finishing it up right before leaving for the trip :

8-28-17  Back from the total solar eclipse in Oregon.  Wow !  Totality lasting about 90 seconds was amazing including the temperature drop, the darkening, the color shift and the quiet.  Mailed 2 pigeons in Bend -- one is back already, the other missing in action so far...........bruce
