Cascadia – Drizzle

As a firelookout my least favorite days were the socked in drizzly days —  I couldn’t see my territory very well, no dayhikers to visit with or show around, not much chance of a fire / smoke and there is a damp cold that penetrates your clothing and leaves you feeling chilled all day since neither Desolation nor Sourdough lookouts have stoves.  When Jack Kerouac was serving on Desolation Peak — he did have a wood stove.  It was long gone by the time I was posted up there.
