When I was working as the fire lookout on Desolation Peak, a fellow came up who had a website story http://www.dharmabeat.com/desolationpeak.html.  He had studied Kerouac’s writings and was sitting there contemplating ” the Void ” a construct of Jack’s mind…..sorta a word for ” the unknowable “….  by the way — I was the guy who mailed the sunglasses with Jack as the return address…….
