Evans – Grey Douglas #1

Donald Evans was my hero and the best of the stamp painters.  See the tab on this website “Stamp Art”.  Anyway I had a chance to go to Amsterdam which is where he lived and died in a tragic fire at age 32.  And I had the extreme good fortune to meet a couple there —Yteke and Bert who knew him personally.  In fact Donald named a whole country after Yteke.  She was gracious enough to sign this “pigeon” for me : )))  Note the addressee is one used by Donald ( Professor Gluback )which is a wonderful reference to stamps.  The Grey Douglas was Donald’s favorite tartan.
