Kiva – Confluence

DETAILS:
The Little Colorado River which runs a beautiful turquoise blue much of the time — drains into the main Colorado River which itself runs from a pea greenish to thick muddy red—> in the eastern Grand Canyon.  They call the place — The Confluence.  It is threatened now by a developer wanting to build a tram down to the Confluence and put in a lunch and souvenir counter.  It would trash the place.  I was there once on a river float and would cry to see it turned into a tourist dive with a line of buses above.    This painting is from the viewpoint of someone on a canyon rim above looking down.  Note the upside down cancellation…….a sign of distress.
