Kiva – Desert & Water
I have done a fair amount of hiking in desert areas —> seeing water flowing thru bone dry environments has always seemed magic to me. In the Grand Canyon the water mostly originates from high above — higher than you can see or in the case of Roaring Springs — emerges from a softer rock just above a harder layer — the water deflected outward seemingly from nowhere. The other thing about water in the desert is that it accounts for so much of the shapes around you – sculpted by water long gone in the past seasons — so it is incredibly dry as you move thru but paradoxically there are signs of water all around.
