DESIGN:
My friends Dick Tucker and Mike Crowley climbed Elbrus together, the highest mountain in Europe.  They took two pigeons for me but forgot to mail them……..!#$%@!% …..so they gave them to a fellow Bellingham climber who went over there shortly thereafter – Dave Mauro.  He took a taxi into town on a rest day to get some toothpaste and was very gracious to stop by the post office in that little town, buy legal stamps of the correct amount to fly the birds all the way back to me.  Dave went on to climb all seven summits including Everest (incredible ) and has written a book about the quest.  He also penned a super insightful and fun blog during the various climbs that I followed real time.
